the hapless ant is caught inside of my drainpipe

the hapless ant is stuck inside of my sink

the porcelain’s too slick to scale, and every time he tries he fails

think I’ll turn on the hot water and give him a drink

the spider builds his web inside of my doorway

the spider likes to hide on top of my door

he tries to catch these flies but I swat every bug I see

he used to have eight legs, now he’s got four

the millipede’s impeding all of my progress

the praying mantis prays that I don’t find him

he counts his days when he knows that I’m around

they always stand so still until, they see you swing that bat

the crunch and the snap is a most exciting sound
